Assalamualaikum,

LIFE is a complex issue, but with clear purpose. As Muslims, we have been told that there's only one reason why we live in this world - to go through a test. To test whether we will abide to our responsibilities - To be HIS servants ('ubaid) and vicegerents (khulafa).

One goal, two responsibilities. Riddle of life can never have an easier answer than that. Yet, we always find ourselves in turmoils from time to time. We lose our sights on the path, a path that have been laid down upon us with complete guidance.

We face ordeals that we often think as too much for us to carry it on our fragile shoulders. We ought to take it to ourselves that we're suffering from things that are not supposed to be. We feel like all the empathy in this world could not lessen that pain we're going through.

Well, that is the purpose of this life. Ordeals, confusions and temptations to our physical, mental and spiritual strength. There would be only two outcomes, whether we passed or we failed. And it would never be easy, even though sometimes it seems so.

If we are to make a list of things that we want in this life, we would be spending our whole lifetime just to write some portions of that list. But if we are to make a list of things that we really NEED, that whole lifetime might be spent of pondering over what should we put in that very list. Because in most cases, what we want and what we need is totally different things. We know what we want, but the only one who knows what we really need in our life is HIM. HE knows what is best for us, so HE put us through many ups and downs so that HE can take us where we should be.

Some people say we can learn to be strong, but I never think that mental strength is something we can learn. We have to choose to be strong, not to learn. Do not waste our time to learn how to be strong. We should decide that we're going to be strong, and BE it!

It is not easy, but it is not impossible either. Someone, somewhere has done it, so why couldn't we? Knowing that all these things are just some tests given by Allah to make us better in our lives, is all it takes. We might get wounded in the process, but we will finally be there, if we decided to be strong.

HE knows us more than we know ourselves. Put our faith in HIM, and everything will be less painful and the wounds will heal faster, insya Allah.

Remember...

The first life is a struggle

The life in the grave is a resting or waiting place before the Day of Judgment

The Day of Judgment brings about the clear understanding of what will now happen to the individual based on his own desires and actions

The Permanent or Afterlife will either be spend in luxurious splendor or miserable punishment
